Upon the Celtic Cross
Upon the Celtic Cross is an effective opener, overture or finale to any programme. With choreography, special percussion effects, and impressive virtuosity showcasing the various sections of the band, this new concert work has great entertainment value and was used by the Flowers Band to close their 2014 Brass in Concert programme.
The music brings together two of Ireland's rich musical trademarks. Ancient, almost cinematographic chant-like music sets the scene, before breaking out into the more widely recognised Irish dance style. These two elements combine towards the close which also features tribe-like singing within the band!
